Staying overnight in Barbian is a treat in midsummer.
Barbian towers over the Isarco Valley and you can see as far as the Gardena Pass - the Sciliar is exactly opposite.
The temperature is really pleasant in the evening.

The village of Barbiano in the Isarco Valley has one of the most curious views in South Tyrol to offer: The 14th century parish church of St. Jakob, whose unusual leaning bell tower can be seen from afar. The tip of the bell tower is 37 meters high and is offset by 1.5 meters. Already when the church was built, the bell tower had this strong inclination, but this was not correct. This would prove to be a real problem during subsequent reconstruction work. The pointed octagonal roof was only applied to the bell tower in the 15th century, which was no easy feat given the inclination of the tower. In 1874, the church was then fundamentally rebuilt, during which the nave was given its current, neo-Romanesque form. However, the inclination of the bell tower has not been changed. Today, the 12 stained glass windows inside the church are particularly worth seeing. These represent the life of the apostles.
