This pretty section of the route runs parallel and in parts very close to the Unstrut, which still flows in its original riverbed in several loops in this area. On the northern side, a former vineyard protects, the bank area is lined with pollarded willows and dense bank vegetation, which offers valuable protection for insects and birds in particular. 35 species of butterflies can be discovered in the nature reserve. In the middle of the section and on the outskirts of Großvargula there are several clean seating areas that invite you to linger. Here you should take a break. :-)

This is the most beautiful part of the middle Unstrut. The bike path ust not suitable for racing bikes, but shady.

Very nice section, here you can relax at a break times. Meanwhile, the extended points of the way were gravel, which is not necessarily beneficial to the driving experience.

Pure biodiversity in the NSG such as. the bag tit, the blue-black wooden bee, the smooth snake, the reversible neck and the red-backed shrike.
The NSG covers 192.6 hectares.
The protected section of the Unstrut Valley is steep and deeply cut into the gently rolling landscape. Here the Unstrut, which in this area still has a largely natural river bed, flows in several loops through the valley.
Endangered plant communities, insects and numerous species of birds settle here.
Besides the Unstrut, other valuable biotopes belong to the NSG.

The absolutely quiet and natural path is equally pleasant to use for cyclists and hikers. This section of the Unstrut Valley is not protected for nothing. In spring, when the trees are in bloom, with adonis, cowslips and nightingale singing, just wonderful.
It's always a little bit like being in paradise to be out and about here.
