It is a ruin, which actually consists only of the tower visible from afar and small wall remnants.
Not much left, but worth it because of the all-round view.
Since February 2016, the keep has been secured with a net and straps, as some stones had come loose from the masonry. Access to the tower is temporarily not possible because of its upcoming renovation. September 2017 still so.

I can only agree with Jürgen. A beautiful view over the Gleibergerland. The castle is always worth a visit.
For those who are too steep the direct path, there is a more relaxed ascent around the castle
