The Scheunenwindmühle in Saalow (also barn mill) is a windmill in which the drive wind flows directly through the mill building and not, as is common practice, is passed around the mill. The building, which is sometimes classified as a "wooden wind turbine" from the 19th century, was originally built in today's Dresden district of Podemus. It is unique in its kind worldwide.

on Sundays from 14.00 to 17.00

Guided tours are held from 10:00 to 17:00 on Whitsun Monday.

After a telephone agreement, visits to the barn windmill are also possible outside opening hours.

This barn door mill is a very special industrial monument. The mill is operated by opening the barn doors. The wind wheel turns due to the draft.

The Schubertsche Scheunenmühle, today in Saalow, municipality Am Meilensee, stands, was built in the period from 1864 - 1866 in Podemus near Dresden, then Kingdom of Saxony.

The drive wind is flowed directly through the mill building and not, as is common practice, is passed around the mill.

It is the only barn windmill in the world.
