    To reach the small port of Torri del Benaco you have to get off your bike and walk the streets of the village. It is worth making a short stop in this village rich in historical value. The town center is surrounded by medieval walls and towers. Do not miss the famous castle, now home to the Ethnographic Museum and the Lemon Garden dating back to 1760. In the village there are also several bars, restaurants and quality ice cream parlors. The local market takes place every Monday.

            The first settlement in this area has been documented since the Chalcolithic era through pile dwellings, and numerous finds of rock carvings have been preserved from the Bronze Age.

            Towards the end of the 1st century B.C. In the 4th century BC, Torri (then “Tulles”) became part of the Roman Empire. This is confirmed by excavation finds of coins from the imperial period and many still existing district names such as Le Sorti (Sortes) and Il Salto (Saltus). After its collapse, various Germanic peoples spread along the banks of the “Benacus”, as Lake Garda was called at that time. From the 6th century onwards, various groups of Goths and Lombards settled on the “Veronese side” (i.e. east side) and on the slopes of Monte Baldo. Towards the end of the 9th century, the Franks invaded this area.

                        The town of Torri del Benaco is located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, just a little north of the famous wine-growing region around Bardolino, directly on the Gardesana Orientale road and is therefore easy to reach for holidaymakers. The city's population is just over 3,000, making Torri one of the smaller towns on the eastern bank.

                        From a climatic point of view, the community is extremely spoiled. The mild temperatures that dominate all year round and the many hours of sunshine make Torri del Benaco a recommended travel destination all year round.
