This is the Luppewehr (not the Elsterflutgrabenwehr on the Heuweg).
The Luppewehr, located in the landscape protection area, forms the northern end of the Elster Basin together with the Nahlewehr and the Lower Elsterwehr. Together, the 3 weirs regulate the storage of the magpie basin and the flood drain. The Luppewehr was built in 1954, in 2004 the system was rebuilt.

One of three weirs at the end of the Elsterflutt basin (Elsterwehr, Luppewehr and Nahlewehr). The other two weirs are nearby. At the northern end of the Elster flood basin, the water is distributed between the three rivers Weiße Elster, Neue Luppe and Nahle.
