This monument near the (former) Federal Chancellery honors Konrad ADENAUER (1876 to 1967). It only depicts his head; the back of the head is flattened and there are some additional reliefs. Adenauer was mayor of Cologne before the Nazi era and the first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany after the Second World War. Due to his residence in Rhöndorf, he was also instrumental in Bonn being chosen as the federal capital.
