    The Monte Gelato waterfalls have acquired notoriety for being the backdrop in some period films, thanks to their relative proximity to the Cinecittà film studios in Rome.
    The shady trees around the waterfall and the Treja river in the Vale del Treja Natural Park create a peaceful environment, ideal for taking a break on the Via Francigena towards Rome.

      Although not the most spectacular waterfalls in Italy, the Cascate di Monte Gelato have gained some fame because they were a popular backdrop for history films because of their relative proximity to the Cinecittà film studios in Rome. For a breather on the way to Rome on the Via Francigena, the shady trees around the waterfall and the Treja River in the Vale del Treja Nature Park are in any case the best.
