In the center of Egestorf, surrounded by linden trees, is St. Stephen's Church, a typical Heath half-timbered church with a free-standing wooden bell tower. It is very popular as a wedding and baptism church, and concerts are often held here. Especially the series "Music in Old Heath Churches" - launched in 1972 by Cantor Johann Christmas in the St. Stephanus ChurchGrote - is visited by many music lovers from July to September. Every year at the end of August, the parish celebrates "Pagan Sunday" with a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph to commemorate the fallen and missing from the two world wars. The interior of the church is decorated with freshly bound pagan wreaths.
