The Werder is an island on the Weser flowing through Hameln. A pedestrian bridge connects the island directly to the city center. Rest on an island in the middle of the city
On the island there is a small park and circular walk on the banks of the Weser. A café and beer garden invites visitors to linger and relax.

After two years of construction, Hameln's first lock was completed in 1734 on the Werder river. 1868 to 1871, a second lock is built, which is still used until 1987 as an additional transport route to 1933 completed Schleppzugschleuse above the cathedral bridge. Today, the lock on the Werder is a listed building.

The island (Werder) is now part of the Grohnder Fährhaus
Since January 1, 2021, "Die Insel" on the Werder in Hameln has belonged to us.

This means that we have taken over the catering on the Werder. The beer garden will continue to be operated directly by us and the restaurant by Mrs. Matar as tenant. We are currently working on the concept for the beer garden and beach bar. We will keep you up to date on further news from the Weser in Hameln and Grohnde.
