On Jakobusweg from Effeltrich in the direction of Hetzles on the "Upper Bühl" is an unusual corridor chapel in octagonal shape. Their name "Mindful on the way" indicates the importance of the chapel for the pilgrims. It is located on the road that leads from Bamberg to Nuremberg, with long-haul destinations in Italy and Spain. The octagonal form of the chapel is said to be reminiscent of the church of Santa Maria of Eunate on the Santiago Way in Spain. This design is mainly found in early Christian churches.
