The older of the two lighthouses was built on the highest point of the cliff, 238 meters above sea level. However, since this first lighthouse is too high and too far from the coast, its light lost itself in the fog, which forms too often at its height. Therefore, a new lighthouse was built at only 87 meters above the sea closer to the water at the so-called Diaz Point. From the old lighthouse to the vicinity of the new, a hiking trail leads along the steeply sloping cliff walls. At the end of the path there is an observation deck overlooking the new lighthouse.

Be sure to hike all the way to the front of the cape. The view, the landscape is wonderful.
