The Torre del Marino was built towards the end of the fifteenth century for defensive and sighting purposes (it dominates the Senio Valley and a vast hilly area) by the Naldi family and was later the Rondinini family. This tower also constituted the architectural prototype for the subsequent towers of Cavina (1491) and Pratesi (around 1510) located a few kilometers upstream of the Vena del Gesso. Following the war events (it was the target of German artillery during World War II) the ceiling and the vaults of the various internal floors collapsed: it still retains traces of stairs and the remains of a monumental fireplace.

From 1794 it became the property of Antonio Marino, from whom it inherited its current name. This tower also constituted the architectural prototype for the subsequent towers of Cavina (1491) and Pratesi (around 1510) located a few kilometers upstream of the Vena del Gesso.
