This amphitheater, which dates from the beginning of the 1st century of the Roman Empire, continues to offer shows every year. The acoustics are very good. Many recent opera singers have sung within its walls.

The facade overlooking the city is closed. Once the ticket for the visit is paid, you have access to another setting. Namely: a huge stage as well as imposing stands.

The ancient theater of Orange, built during the reign of Augustus in the first century by the veterans of the Second Legion of Julius Caesar, is one of the best preserved Roman theaters in the world.
