The title of this highlight should be changed.
The pond is neither natural, nor is the area untouched.
It's actually an artificially created wetland biotope designed to support many species, and it clearly does.
It was probably created by the former forester of Schönderling.
He's known for having implemented many nature conservation projects (some in collaboration with the Bavarian Nature Conservation Association and the Bavarian Society for the Protection of Birds).
PS: The name of this highlight has been changed and is much more fitting!

The natural pond is pure nature, a lot of plants and living beings have settled.
