The Pulverturm is a tower of the listed city fortifications of Templin in Brandenburg.
It is located in the eastern part of Templin's old town, not far from Prenzlauer Tor. The tower was built in the early 15th century from an older semi-circular Wiekhaus of the Templin city fortifications. It is built of brick and is covered by a solid conical helmet. Due to the brick roof, it was non-flammable and served as a powder tower for storing gunpowder.
In the early 15th century, another Wieckhaus was converted into today's powder tower to store gunpowder. The still existing, brick and therefore non-flammable conical roof indicates a high safety standard. Like the owl tower, this tower was also equipped with loopholes.
