Nice summit directly above the mountain station of the Hochgratbahn. Easy to reach via the ridge path or the comfortable hiking trail, unfortunately a lot of traffic through the Nahe cable car. Starting point for a great tightrope walk on the Nagelfluh chain with many peaks and highlights.

Unfortunately very crowded during “cable car season”. It's best not to visit the impressive summit cross during its operating hours 😅

Anyone who has done the tour on the Hochgrat once in the autumn will always remember this tour. The wide view to the Allgäu main ridge, into the Ländle, to the Bodensee, to the Säntis into the Unterland, to upper Swabia into the Black Forest and on the alp makes the Hochgrat a unique experience.
