The Aartalsee in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis in the municipality Bischoffen and Hohenahr is the second largest lake area of Hesse and offers something for every recreational athlete: Whether sailing, surfing, fishing, inline skating, hiking or jogging on the approximately 7.5 km long circular walk.
For swimming and relaxation, the bathing area with sandy beach and lawn invites. Various sports and recreational events take place on the grounds in the summer.
The Vorsperre, which is dedicated to nature conservation, hosts numerous native species on and around the 21 islands, which take up residence here in both summer and winter.
Whether on foot or on the bike: Discover the beautiful surroundings of the Aartalsee with its wooded valleys and heights on one of the numerous hiking and biking trails, such as the "Wedding Path".
On a total area of 82 hectares, many recreational opportunities. There are lawns for sunbathing and a sandy beach for swimming, a sailing and surfing club and good fishing opportunities.
A developed path for pedestrians, joggers, inline skaters and cyclists leads around the lake.
Six hundred municipal parking spaces are available for visitors. All municipal parking spaces are chargeable.
