    Back on the Saale Cycle Path, this trail takes us out of Rudolstadt with a last very nice view of the Heidecksburg. This way through the Saale valley is in my opinion the most beautiful, even if the driveway is a little arduous.

                The landscape between Saalfeld and Rudolstadt is just beautiful to look at. 😁 The views along the Saale show the beauty, especially through the many palaces and castles. It's worth just enjoying. Rudolstadt with the Heidecksburg is no exception. 😁

                    The Heidecksburg, which can be seen from afar, sits enthroned on the Schlossberg above the old town of Rudolstadt. The mighty, three-wing baroque palace was built in the second half of the 18th century on the remains of a Renaissance complex that burned down in 1735.
