You have to start up yourself, then you can imagine what steam the professionals use to climb the Vuelta.
The Coll de Rates is the mountain that is ridden by racing cyclists, beginners to professionals. It's by no means the steepest or longest climb in the region, but for one reason or another, the climb out of Parcent has near-mythical status.
The driveway is not difficult to find, in Parcent take the CV-715 in the direction of Tarbena and Callosa (timekeeping at the Stoppomat exit and stopping the time at the top.
Nice route is also from the coast, just before Altra take the CV-755 right, in Callosa CV-715 towards Tabena ..... then continue up.
