The legend about the Heinrichsblick:
A few centuries ago a young man is said to have innocently given his life at this point. According to legend, his name was Heinrich and he was supposed to marry Kunigunde, the beautiful daughter of the Mehlemer bailiff. When Kunigunde and Heinrich went through the Kottenforst to personally invite relatives to the wedding, Heinrich is said to have returned halfway because he still had something to do.
In the middle of the forest he heard a groan and found a woman covered in blood. He took her on his shoulders and took her to the village. When he found she was dead, he filed a complaint. The rejected suitors Kunigundes then blamed Heinrich for the deed, so the legend goes. They achieved that he had to die without a defense on the execution site on Rodderberg.
