The Maria Eck Monastery is a monastery of the Franciscan Minorites. Behind the church you can enjoy a wonderful view of Chiemgau.
The founding of the Maria Eck pilgrimage church goes back to an old legend. Loggers are said to have repeatedly seen light phenomena in this area. As before, two lights are said to have appeared when they built a wooden chapel. They saw this as a divine indication to build two more altars in honor of the Holy Trinity.
The pilgrimage to Maria Eck dates back to the 16th century. Numerous votive plaques bear witness to the long tradition.
You can probably enjoy the best panoramic view from the nearby inn and its terrace, if possible with coffee and cake.
