        It is easier and nicer to drive here from the back so Nieder- or Ober-Beerbach. Then you can enjoy the long descent towards Eberstadt. The other way around, I have always felt it more demanding. Arrived at the top of the castle you can enjoy a great view to Feldberg in good weather. There is also a public toilet, you can strengthen in the restaurant (rather average) and of course visit the castle ruins for a donation.

                Once at the top there is a castle courtyard with a kiosk, sanitary facilities and a restaurant with hot food. It's busy here at the weekend! The descent to Eberstadt is well paved. After Ober Beerbach / Nieder Beerbach, however, the road is damaged and is only partially fun with the racing bike.

                  Currently not recommended if you only go up for the castle or the view, but who does that;). The castle is logically closed and there is hardly anything to see from the outside. It's definitely enough for a snack break.

                    Very nice climb. The asphalt is top notch. The road winds beautifully up through the forest.

                    With a max. 10% gradient, the climb is not too demanding.

                    The descent on the other side is a disaster, however, in terms of the asphalt. Potholes and cracks in the asphalt make the descent really dangerous, especially in bad weather. So be careful and always hold on to the handlebars. ☝️
