There is a break station for cyclists with the possibility to recharge the batteries of the e-bikes directly in the ticket area of the Natureum. If the weather is bad, you can take your picnic in a separate area in the entrance hall.
The Freiburg harbor channel is an approximately 2 km long, unclassified federal waterway in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. It serves as an access route from the Lower Elbe to the Freiburg harbor and is under the jurisdiction of the Elbe-North Sea Waterways and Shipping Authority. It is classified as an inland waterway subject to the Maritime Shipping Regulations.
Natureum and Freiburg/Elbe are about 25 km apart. You can either drive through the former outer dike area (watch the wind direction!), along the old dike, or follow the country road to Balje-Hörne. Cross the Oste barrage using the drawbridge, and you'll arrive at the Natureum from the Freiburg direction. Be careful: the barrage's drawbridge is only open for a limited time. So, make sure you check it out! Otherwise, you're done. With its permanent exhibition and changing special exhibitions, the Natureum is worth a visit anytime. You can take a break in the café.
