At the time of writing, the ferry (an otherwise wonderful way to start or end a trip) is out of action, likely until October 2018. Windermere Lake Cruises is offering a pedestrian service, and has stated it will "operate a special Bike friendly vessel between Bowness and Ferry House on days when availability allows" in the mean time from Wray Castle and Brock Hole.
