The De Hoge Veluwe National Park (Hoge Veluwe for short) is a nature park in the Netherlands, province of Gelderland. Typical of De Hoge Veluwe is a variable distribution of forest and heath areas. In the north of the nature park there are also large sandy grasslands. In the west there is still a juniper remnant. With over 500,000 visitors a year, De Hoge Veluwe is one of the most visited heathlands in Central Europe.[1] Although the nature park offers breeding areas for stonechats and nightjars, due to the large number of visitors, the habitat conditions are not very suitable for birds that are sensitive to disturbance.
