Gavnø Castle is a beautiful rococo-style fairytale castle that was built more than 600 years ago. The castle, which originally served as a monastery for unmarried noble women, is now one of the landmarks of Næstved and offers many exciting events throughout the year. It is one of the jewels of the Danish Baltic Islands.
Take a tour around the castle and see the most colorful church in Scandinavia in the castle chapel. Then you can see the largest private collection of paintings in Scandinavia, which includes around 1000 paintings - including some of the oldest surviving portraits in Scandinavia, dating from around 1460.
Gavnø Castle hosts some of Denmark's biggest events during the season. Visit Denmark's largest tulip festival, Denmark's largest classic car fair and Denmark's largest Christmas market and much more. gavnoe.dk/de
