The complex consists of the ruins of the main castle with the stump of the Romanesque keep and the spacious outer bailey with a medieval moat, rampart and castle gate (at the southwest corner). The two-storey main building of the outer bailey, renovated as a hotel in 1972, was built in 1578.

Great tour with lots of single trails. Moderately difficult and a basic level of fitness is required. Arnsberg Castle with ruins is definitely worth seeing and you can enjoy a good snack in the courtyard. The menu is not varied, however, and you can satisfy your appetite. After a short break with a perfect view over the Kipfenberg valley, you can go back on forest trails and single trails. A detour to the caves is also worth seeing but not a must. All in all a nice WE trip.
