The Gedser Odde offers a unique nature, a rich bird life and an exciting history - in addition to the exciting feeling of being surrounded by the sea on all sides and standing at the southern tip of Scandinavia with a view towards Central Europe.

The surroundings of the Gedser Odde are very special, because the rough headland forms a sharp contrast to the inviting, wide sandy beach, which starts just a few hundred meters away.

Whoever stands here - especially on a windy day - sees and feels the untamed power of nature when the waves of the Baltic Sea hit.

The “Gedser Fyr” lighthouse overlooks the reefs that protrude 18 kilometers into the water around the Gedser Odde and offers a fantastic view of the landscapes of Lolland and Falster. Even the German coast can be admired from here.

And then of course there is bird life, which is by far the biggest attraction of this area.

The Gedser Odde is a special attraction for bird lovers - and for good reason.

Because the southern tip of Gedser lies on the main bird migration route between northern Scandinavia and southern Europe. That means you can spot thousands of migratory birds here in spring and autumn.

The most common guests of the Gedser Odde are the eider ducks, of which up to 130,000 animals land here every day, and with a little luck you can also see the rarer, more colorful magnificent eider duck.

But also those who love birds of prey will get their money's worth on the Gedser Odde. There is plenty of food for common buzzards, sparrowhawks and red kites. In addition, the Gedser Odde is considered the best place in Denmark to observe the rough buzzard.
