Operating hours of the Danube ferry Sandbach:

March 15th - April 30th 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
May 1st - September 30th 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
September 30 - November 15 07:00 - 18:00

Limited ferry service in storm, high water and heavy fog.

Winter break from 14th November to 15th March

The ferry enables a crossing from Sandbach to the Danube cycle path. The cycle path runs to the left of the Danube, but cycling to the right of the Danube between Vilshofen and Seestetten is also possible, but not on a cycle path but on quiet side streets with little traffic. From Seestetten, however, you only continue through the forest and you have to accept the climb because it is far too dangerous down on the main road!

If you like, you can change the bank on your tour on the Danube Cycle Path. That's fun! The ferry doesn't run in winter.
