The local bike path "Fränkisch-Crumbach-Rodenstein" leads to the Geo-Naturpark car park above the castle. Getting here by car is also worthwhile, because numerous long-distance, regional and local circular hiking trails meet up here:

The geo parking lot is around 150m from the castle or the Resto Hofgut Rodenstein. There is also a parking lot in front of the restaurant

The castle Rodenstein is the ruin of a Hangburg in the Odenwald. It belongs to the municipality Franconian Crumbach in Odenwaldkreis (South Hesse) and is accessible from there and from the neighboring municipality Reichelsheim.

The castle belonged to the type of shield and mantle wall castle; it was reinforced against the attack by a shield wall, the core building was surrounded by a wall. In addition, the south side was attached by a Vorzwinger and by a half-round gun rondel.
