The Saint-Paul church in Strasbourg (“Paulskirche” in German) is located at the intersection of the Zorn and Mullenheim quays, on the banks of the Aare and the Ill.

A former Protestant garrison church, it was built at the end of the 19th century during the annexation. She is now assigned to Reformed worship.

It is part of the “imperial axis” of Neustadt formed by Avenue de la Liberté which connects Place de la République and Place de l’Université. Its two spiers reaching a height of 76 meters dominate the surrounding area.

The Saint-Paul church has been classified as a historic monument since May 4, 19981.

Built in neo-Gothic style by Louis Muller between 1892-1897, the Saint-Paul church stands at the tip of the Sainte-Hélène islet, at the junction of the Ill and the Aar. This location ensures maximum visibility in the majestic axis of the new Neustadt district, desired by the imperial authorities after the annexation of 1871.
