The Texas Pass is a great climb from both sides - as usual in the Kaiserstuhl, sometimes a little steeper, especially the Kiechlinsbergen ramp with a little more than 12 percent. This climb is through forest most of the time and is preferable in summer, especially at lunchtime. The hump, which is actually called "Auf dem Eck", supposedly got its nickname because it can get "as hot as in Texas" there.

Oberbergen is a district of Vogtsburg in Kaiserstuhl in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg with about 1000 inhabitants. The village belonging to the city Vogtsburg since 1975 consists of two parts: Altvogtsburg, the eponym of the town Vogtsburg with about 50 inhabitants, and the wine and resort Oberbergen.

Nice climb from Oberbergen, however there is always a risk of being cut by motorists on weekends. Sometimes it pays to block the trail 🤷♂️
