"Once upon a time there was a king who gave his married couple a castle with 160 rooms, 30-meter-high lookout towers, a chapel and stables." This is exactly how the story of Marienburg Castle begins.

If you drive from the south in the direction of Hanover, the castle sees you standing on a densely wooded mountain from afar. Today, the picturesque building in the Calenberger Land is a museum with sumptuous rooms and a magnificent library.

Visitors can visit the castle's interior during a one-hour guided tour or various theme tours. You can see historic furniture, paintings and art-historical rarities from the possession of the royal Guelph family.
