        Augustenburg Castle is a former castle of the Margraves of Baden-Durlach. The formerly connected castle garden and the Augustenberg Chamber Estate now house the Augustenberg Agricultural Technology Center.
        At the beginning of the 19th century, the castle became private property. It has been sold and renovated several times. The converted castle has a vaulted cellar, a knights' hall and a restaurant with a fireplace. The current owner runs a service for senior citizens.

          The former Augustenburg Castle in Grötzingen is a cultural monument according to Section 12 (Cultural Monument of Special Importance) of the Monument Protection Act and was built in 1553.
          The house was used as a retirement home until March 2018
          The historic main building of the castle is to be largely preserved, the two side wings from the 1970s, which in their cubature and architecture trace the earlier castle wings, will be demolished and replaced by larger new buildings. In addition, a large multi-storey new building is to be built in the middle of the historic castle area for a profitable solution: problematic for the townscape of Grötzingen between Augustenburg and the medieval church and controversial among experts. The view of the castle would be blocked.
