Metz was (like many of his neighbors in the Alsace-Lorraine region) at the mercy of the border regions. Metz changed several times his affiliation between the German and French empires. Until 1918 it still belonged to the German Empire, which is still recognizable in many buildings in the city and leads to a diversity in architecture. The train station is the best example of German architecture. Metz is an ideal city for a city trip or for a stopover if you are in transit to the south of France, Switzerland or Italy. The city is full of sights and nice squares. Pay a visit to one of the many historic buildings in the city, or stroll through the beautiful gardens of the city. In addition, Metz has plenty of nice terraces and restaurants. In short, plenty to do in this historic city!
