Monte Cinto, the highest mountain in Corsica (2,706 m), is not entirely on the route of the GR 20. If the visibility is good, the ascent to the summit, which takes about 2 hours there and back, is definitely worth it. The way to Monte Cinto is not easy and it sometimes goes over very large blocks. When you arrive at the summit cross, you will be rewarded with an amazing view!

I miss the way to Monte Cinto twice because it goes down several times and then up again and I missed the marking to get to the back of the mountain from which it goes to the summit. The Monte Cinto is not a "boring heap of rubble" but requires (also) a lot of climbing; it takes one hour up, one down. Great view, great feeling.
