    Hohenerxleben Castle was first mentioned in a document in 1205. At the beginning of the 16th century, the von Krosigk family bought the castle complex, which was surrounded on three sides by dry moats and was situated on a limestone cliff. After 1945, the castle was expropriated and used as a training location, including for the Technical University of Magdeburg.

    Today, Hohenerxleben Castle is owned by the Schloss Theatrum Herberge Hohenerxleben Foundation, founded by Ingrid von Krosigk in 1997, and is used as a castle hotel and for artistic programs.

      Hohenerxleben Castle is administered by a foundation. The staff are very friendly and happy to provide information about the history of the castle. There are regularly held cultural events there. In the hotel you can stay very well. The prices are very civil for the offered ambience.
