There is a (racing bike) highlight from the built-up area of Kasteel Huis Bergh, but this is also from De Plantage near that castle, from where you can admire the very beautiful wooded side of the castle. Even with a racing bike, it is still easily accessible on easy-to-ride gravel paths.
This side is very suitable for beautiful photos because of the wide view to and from all sides.

There is a wall around Huis Bergh and behind it the De Plantage park forest, which was created in the eighteenth century. The rampart was part of the defenses. In 1379 Willem van den Bergh granted city rights to 's-Heerenberg. Presumably the city was then provided with defenses, of which the rampart was part. Originally, the city wall had an inner and an outer moat. See the site for much more information.

Most paths are free to ride in the Plantage, but only if you carry a bell on your bike ;-). Since it is a public area, there a lot of people walking their dogs and enjoying the surroundings. Nonetheless a very nice ambience with the nearby Castle Huis Bergh
