Mengel Cabin is a wheatherproof hut just like the Geologist's Cabin at Anvil Spring Junction and it is also stocked with food and water. It also has an outhouse. The cabin is a great spot for exploring the area and canyons on foot. The "Greater Views Spring" is next to the cabin.
ATTENTION: It is not rodent-proof! So beware of the dangerous and often fatal Hantavirus that small rodents carry. Don't stir up dust if there is proof of mice or other rodents like feces or urine.
To get here, a 4x4 high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended.
