"The Seegugger on Epplesee in Rheinstetten-Forchheim impresses with its view of the quarry lake. The pizzas and grilled specialties are highly recommended. The beer garden season for day trippers and bathers runs from mid-April to mid-October."
Self-service!
The water level is well below the terrain, and there are high embankments behind the narrow beach. In the northern part by the parking lot, a lawn offers plenty of space for sunbathing. There is also a snack and toilet truck there. From there to the west, a strip of sandy beach stretches to the western shore of the lake. There is a large, marked, non-separated nudist area where wearing clothing is not permitted. There is a cozy beer garden on the embankment, from which you have a beautiful view of the lake, which also serves as a training area for sailing and diving. When the wind is strong, there are an impressive number of wind and kite surfers on the lake. In the summer months, private parties often take place on the large lawn in the evenings and at night and offer an impressive sight with their campfires, and unfortunately also with the garbage left lying around the next morning.
The DLRG Südhardt local group provides a water rescue service on Sundays and public holidays.
If you arrive by car you can use the large parking lot in the north of the lake. The municipality of Rheinstetten then charges around 4 euros as a parking fee, some of which is used to keep the lake and the shore clean. Please note that parking in the parking lot is not permitted between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. and will be punished with fines. It is cheaper to travel by train or bike.
