The Marine Nature Reserve of Punta Aderci is called in this way it derives from "Punta d'Erce" because the locals believed in ancient times that there were the Pillars of Hercules here, the point where the known world ended and beyond which there was the unknown.
The marine reserve is made up of a maritime panorama that immediately catches the eye of the visitor who appreciates the wonderful seaside places and there is a 7 km completely unpaved nature trail that starts from the entrance to the visitor center up to near the Poker hotel in Casalbordino Lido, which can be traveled on foot, by bicycle and on horseback.
Please pay the utmost attention in this area as it is populated by a large number of wild boars which for several years have now settled in the localities of the beaches of Mottagrossa and Torre Sinello, so as you spot the mother with the young behind, stay at a distance in the order of 80-100 meters even more, do not attempt the approach at all or the female could sense a danger for her young and would charge you immediately.
