The first church was built in 1210. It was severely damaged by a lightning strike in 1885. The three church bells and the organ built by Carl Jakob Ziese in 1858, which stood behind the altar in the choir, and the tower clock remained undamaged. On July 30, 1886, the cornerstone for a new church was laid. It consists of the octagonal steeple to the west, covered with a slated, pointed spire, a nave covered with a gabled roof, and a tapered chancel with a three-sided termination. On November 6, 1887, the new church was consecrated. The organ, which was not damaged by the fire, could not be accommodated in the new church. So Förster & Nicolaus built a new organ from the parts of the old one in a new case. It has 9 registers on a manual and pedal. In 1889 the bells, which could not be heard throughout the village, had to be hung higher. Of the three bells, the two larger ones were given away for war purposes during the First World War. In 1922 new bells were purchased. These were also melted down during World War II. Only in 1950 could two new bells be purchased, which still hang in the church tower today. In 1955 the interior was remodeled. The galleries on the sides and in the chancel were replaced by a gallery at the back of the church. The pews were also rearranged, creating a central aisle leading to the altar. The sacristy was integrated into the nave in 1982.
