Margarida (Planes, Alicante) is a tiny and picturesque mountain hamlet at around 600 meters above sea level, nestled between the valleys of Planes, Gallinera and Alcalá. The village is dominated by the ruins of the Castillo de Margarida, perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside. It is a place of silence and simplicity, with only a rural guesthouse and a modest tavern on the edge of the settlement, making it an ideal stop for those seeking peace and authenticity. From here, quiet roads and trails lead into the surrounding mountains, towards landmarks such as La Foradá and the Barranc de l’Encantada. Margarida may be small, but its charm lies in its remoteness, the sense of stepping back in time, and the breathtaking panoramas that reward anyone who makes the journey up into these hills.

This is charming little village situated at the head of two valleys. There is a nice bar/restaurant and a water fountain.
