Very well-preserved and well-kept castle, which now houses a music academy.
The complex is beautiful and you can linger and rest here for well and happy 1 hour.
In front of the castle is a parking lot with some trees that provide nice shade. There is also a charging station for cars, which also has a safety plug, so that you can also charge your e-bike if you are out of breath.... it costs a bit, but if you need it urgently, you will be happy. that this is here.
A little tip on the side: the ascent from Lauchheim can be managed much better on the road. The gradient there is rather moderate and the surface is very flat. The stretch of road isn't long either, and you'll soon be back on cycle paths.
Pushing up or down the bumpy gravel road with a gradient of 20-21% is not necessarily a pleasure, especially for touring cyclists with a lot of luggage.
The road is rarely busy and drivers are usually very considerate. You're definitely doing yourself a favour.
The ascent - no matter from which side - is definitely worth it and you will be rewarded with a great all-round view.
There is a lot to see and sometimes hear in and around the castle courtyard, really great!
