As the main traffic artery between the Upper Engadin and the rest of the world, the Julier Pass is quite busy, but remains open throughout the winter. The road passes 964 meters in altitude from Tiefencastel (851 m) to Silvaplana (1815 m).

From Tunis it is about 50 km. Runs well as there are some straights to catch. 2200 height is already a number. Great panoramas in all directions.

Do you know Giovanni Netzer? The spectacular 30-meter-high red theater built at the Julier Pass (2,284 meters back) was built in 2017 by the Swiss artist and theater director. Netzer comes from Savognin, the Julier is his "house pass", so to speak. The theater, it's a bit like the legendary Castel del Monte (1240) of the Staufer Emperor Frederick II in southern Italy.
