    Ménez Hom is a mountain located in Brittany, in the Finistère department, in the Cornouaille region, between Aulne and Porzay, on the territory of the municipalities of Plomodiern, Saint-Nic, Trégarvan and Dinéault where it rises to 329 meters altitude. It dominates the bay of Brest and the bay of Douarnenez, and ends the Black Mountains. The site was classified natural heritage in 2004 for its flora and fauna. The Breton word Menez means “mountain” or “mountain”. Komm (transferred here to C'homm) means in old and middle Breton "valley",. The valley is that of the Aulne, located below; Menez Hom thus meaning "the mountain of the valley (of the Alder)". Culminating at an altitude of only 329 meters, but appearing higher because it is very close to the sea (6 km), it is one of the sacred mountains of Armorica; The Ménez Hom is made up of two summits about 800 meters apart: the Petit Menez or Yelc'h and the main summit, called the Yed (Yed in Breton means "watch", which illustrates that it was a place conducive to the surveillance of possible invaders). the others being Karrek an Tan, Roc'h an Aotroù, Roc de Toulaëron4 (Roc'h Toull al Laeron in Breton), Menez Bré and Mont Saint-Michel de Brasparts (Menez Mikael-an-Are).

          Magnificent view from above over Brest and the entire bay of Douarnenez with descents going in all directions and all of which are passable by mountain bike (some steeper than others but anything goes!) To do at sunset it is magical 😍
