The new Neuenkamp Rhine Bridge has been under construction since 2019, with two parallel, independent partial bridges between the Duisburg districts of Neuenkamp and Homberg. The first partial bridge has been in operation since November 2023, as the largest cable-stayed bridge in Germany with a length of 802 m and a height of 75 m.

The old Neuenkamp Rhine Bridge was built between 1966 and 1970 and was 777.4 m long. It is currently being demolished piece by piece (as of June 2024). During the "RUHR.2010 - European Capital of Culture" campaign, the bridge was part of the "Still-Leben Ruhrschnellweg" and could be used by bike and on foot in its full width.

After the demolition of the old bridge, the second, northern new partial bridge will probably be built by 2026. Both partial bridges will have a cycle and pedestrian path: the RS1 cycle expressway will cross the Rhine here.

The Neuenkamp Rhine Bridge in Duisburg leads the federal highway 40 over the Rhine at Rhine kilometer 778.34 between the districts of Neuenkamp and Homberg or Rheinhausen and connects the Ruhr area with the Lower Rhine. Since it is now used by around 100,000 motor vehicles every day, but was only designed for 30,000 vehicles at the time of construction, the bridge will be replaced by a new building, the entire completion of which is scheduled for 2026. The first of the two bridge halves was opened in 2023.
