On the top of the Wietzer Berg with its idyllic heathland stands the great memorial stone for the Heath-Litter Hermann Löns. At the time of the great urbanization at the transition from the 19th century to the 20th century, the journalist and writer Hermann Löns wrote innumerable nature poems and several novels. His favorite landscape was the heathland and his endeavors made the Lüneburg Heath one of the first nature reserves in Germany.

The Heidschuckenweg crosses a small but very beautiful heath area directly on the Hermann-Löns-Stein. Many benches invite you to take a break and information boards write something about the poet.

ハイキング
The 102 meter high Wietzer Berg rises gently on the road between Hermannsburg and Müden (Örtze). Only to be seen at a second glance: under the rolling hills of the heath hide some prehistoric burial mounds. A sign on the way gives more information.
