The water sports club Goldscheuer e.V. was founded in 1969 - initially as an association “without water”. It was not until the construction of the canal, which today leads commercial shipping around our area, that the opportunity arose to use the 6 km long section of the Rhine as a sailing area. The association has grown since then and now has over 200 members.

Our area is about 11 km long and is located in the nature reserve between the old people's home barrage and the Kehl / Strasbourg cultural weir. Because there is no commercial shipping in this area of the Rhine, both beginners and advanced sailors can safely sail through the area. This idyll is even enhanced by the location in the nature reserve, as it is a quiet area with a breathtaking landscape - the dream of every inland sailor. The harmony with nature is very important to us.
